Not that anyone reads my xanga anymore but... I figured that I'd post my latest video that I did a while back for Jess and I.  It's Dirty Shoes by Tim Be Told - just having some fun with friends of mine and props.  If there's anything to be said about the relationship between me and Jess, its that she's always encouraging me to just be me and no one else, and that makes me happier than anything else.  Hope y'all like it.

I went to Walgreens today to get my passport photo taken, smiled for the picture, and left for the post office to submit my passport renewal application.  After waiting in line for a good 20 minutes, I cheerfully submitted my application for approval, and was promptly told by the clerk that my photos were no good.

Slightly taken aback, I inquired why, and she replied, "Your eyes are too small.  I can't tell what color they are."

So after re-visiting Walgreens, this will be my passport photograph for the next 10 years.

Yeah, they were as wide as they could go.

Two April Fool's Days nuggets.

One - Today I selected pieces of a puzzle which one of my pre-school students was working on, and pretended to eat them in front of him - of course, secretly hiding the puzzle pieces inside my pocket.  He screams with a mixture of astonishment and disgust - and then doubles the audio levels when I "spit" the puzzle piece back into my hand, while avoiding my attempts to put the puzzle piece back in the pile.  This goes on about 5 or 6 times, and I wonder why he's not catching on, but also why he's so concerned with hygeine at his age.

Two - One of my students asks me to fix a toy car which he says is broken.  When he hands me the toy, I notice that its not just a typical plastic car frame - it has several wires, a little motor, and a circuit board, along with several other concealed electronics.  As I attempt to re-attach the plastic frame, the car suddenly starts beeping - counting down faster and faster.  And in the remaining five seconds that I'm holding the car, I think:

And then I hear the electronic sound effects of tires screeching, and my heart resumes beating again.

If you count back to this past Monday - the 9th of March - I'm currently in the fourth day of working 19 days straight for various jobs, which include my regular day job and side video jobs.  No time for friends, no time to think, no time for anything but work until the 28th.  Sometimes I catch myself trying to feel sorry for myself, but then I realize that my life now isn't much different than when I didn't have any work to do.   In fact, most of the time I'm glad for the excuse to pull away from all the real heavy thoughts..

But one thing I've realized over these past few weeks is that if it wasn't for my girlfriend, I'd be one lonely soul in this big city, and I am so thankful for her.
